Oreste Gentilini was born during spring of 1968. He is married since summer of 2000 and father of one son and one daughter, who are now grown-up and independent. Two lovely but also terrible basset hounds keep on barking in the house where they live in the countryside close to Milano. Music (mostly rock…) has always been a companion throughout his life, whereas outdoor sport activities are relaxing moments to clear the mind, sometimes to come up with new ideas.
Oreste had the opportunity to work for 15 years side by side with Prof. Umberto Veronesi at the European Institute of Oncology, trying to steal at least part of his mentality which still represents a continuous source of inspiration. Apart from being PI of numerous research projects and on top of a dense editorial activity, he is one of the founding members of the no-profit international research association on breast cancer surgery named EUBREAST, serving now as Chairman of the Italian branch.
Oreste is head of Breast Surgery at the San Raffaele Hospital and Professor of Surgery at the Vita-Salute University in Milano.
