Vitalba Scaduto

I.R.C.C.S. Ospedale San Raffaele Clinical Partner Team Member

Vitalba Scaduto was born in Trapani, a wonderful city in Sicily facing the Mediterranean Sea and known for its ancient history.

After high school graduation, she decided to continue her study in the health care field, attending the Nursing course at Vita-Salute San Raffaele University in Milan.

After graduation, she worked in the operative unit of general surgery and week surgery, where she began to take care of women with breast cancer undergoing breast surgery.

Aiming to learn more, she attended the Master’s degree in Nursing and Midwifery at the Vita-Salute San Raffaele University, where she graduated in July 2022 with a thesis regarding the role and the importance of the Navigator Nurse in taking care of oncology patients.

In October 2022 she began to teach to students of the Bachelor Degree of Nursing (Vita-Salute San Raffaele University) a course regarding the surgical patient’s care. Indeed, she wants to promote the fascinating role of the Navigator nurse to the next generation of students and spread information about this job position.

She joined the San Raffaele Hospital’s Breast Unit in April 2023 where she is dedicated to the Cinderella Project, assisting patients during their pre- and post- surgical journey, and thus sustaining them and their family.

Vitalba, as an authentic Sicilian, loves the sun and the sea, and so, whenever is possible, she returns to her hometown to reunite with her family and to enjoy a refreshing swim in the beautiful waters of Sicily’s crystal-clear sea.
