Born and raised in the beautiful Sicily, Manuela Maria Morgante later moved to Milan to study at the Vita-Salute San Raffaele University, where she graduated in Nursing in 2012.
She has always been motivated by the idea of helping and assisting other people, hence the dream of becoming a nurse. She worked for 8 years in the Emergency Surgery department and in 2020 she joined the Breast Unit of San Raffaele Hospital in Milan as a Breast Navigator Nurse. What she likes the most about her job is that she can assist patients in every step of their pre and post -surgical pathway, becoming a person they can rely on. She thinks empathy and the ability of simplifying complex topics are the basis for an effective nurse-to-patient communication.
Driven by the desire to learn the most and grow as a professional in this field, she attended a specialized University course in Breast Nursing at the University of Turin in 2023. When she heard about the Cinderella Project, she was thrilled to be part of it. Indeed, she thinks it is a great opportunity to improve the quality of life of patients candidate for a surgery that will impact on their physical and emotional well-being.
She is happily married to Simone and they have a small Jack Russel dog, named Mya, who is as lively as she is. She loves photography and traveling, and she can say her heart belongs to Japan (beside her family). She is a cheerful person who likes to surround herself with friends, relatives and good food.
One of her most exciting experiences was the parachute jump with a 60 seconds free fall, enjoying the spectacular landscape of the eastern coast of Sicily.
